Seriously? [26 Dec 2009|11:20pm] baristas [crimson_seven] We had a woman come in today (and I recognized her and her mug, so she's fairly regular) with her favourite tumbler that had the lid stuck on. Apparently she or someone else had wound it in uneven or too tight and no one could get it unstuck. We tried for her, though why she thinks a little barista girl could unstick it when her big husband couldn't is beyond me, but failed. What happened next somewhat amazed me...only at starbucks. She tried to get store credit to buy a new travel mug. On a tumbler. That she broke. That we haven't sold IN OVER FOUR YEARS. Yah, thats right. While I've only worked here for a bit over two years, my shift remembers us selling this specific travel mug during the summer four years ago (right before she transfered). This woman seriously could not comprehend why we wouldn't, and couldn't, give her store credit on a product that she bought four years ago and broke at home. Another Round of Applause for Corporate [26 Dec 2009|05:33pm] bn_booksellers [bnlifer28] So did anyone elses receiving department get screwed over by the "we're not getting a shipment: oops, scratch that. We ARE getting a shipment" extravaganza on Thursday? All of our receivers were told they had the day off and scattered to the four corners for the Holidays. Then of course, just to show that they can, corporate decided that we WOULD get a shipment. So we had to pull valuable booksellers off the floor to bring in te truck, causing mayhem everywhere. So a big Thanks to corporate for showing badly things can be run. Im sure it wouldnt have helped to complain to the home office as Im sure they had gone on Vacacatin Tuesday.
